Dad's 60th Birthday

Dad, Steve, Mom, Julie     Julie, Steve, Mom, and me

Somehow I managed to frame this trip nicely between two long weekends with my family. It all started on the brave pig hunt in Phoenix, then wound down with my Dad's 60th birthday festivities in Sausalito, California, U.S.A..

Mom lined up a cool rental house for the weekend, complete with a view of the Sausalito Bay. It's a pleasant walk from downtown Sausalito to the Golden Gate Bridge, which we did as a family: Mom, Dad, Steve, Julie, and me.

We ferried from Sausalito across the Bay to San Francisco, hit Ghiradelli square, rode a trolley, and ferried back across. It was nice to do the touristy things in my own country. A few lucky friends received some very classy San Francisco postcards from me: "Hair Mail."

The Ghiradelli brothers

I succeeded in sleeping through our complimentary brunch each morning; I guess the fatigue of travel was setting in.

I saw my Malaysian friend, Susan, for an afternoon and an evening. It's not a visit to San Fran for me unless I find some music and dancing, and luckily Susan's architect friends accommodated with a raging condo party one night.
