The Insatiable Quest for Microbrewed Beer

By the time the ferry had docked back on Hong Kong, I'd resolved to find a good beer. I found my first at a Mongolian barbecue which also featured an internet cafe. I think I utterly failed to get the computers to work, although I might have gotten a brief message out to Rogue. At least the beer--Guinness--was tasty.

Next I went in search of a Hong Kong bridge to paint for Dad's 60th birthday. I found it in a postcard rack (don't tell Dad)! Next I read about Hong Kong's limited (but real, nonetheless) brew pub scene, and had to investigate. Honestly there was a huge appeal to the creature comforts I found in Quarry Bay's East End Brewery, the English-style pub with American-style craft beers, brewed right on site. I think I was beginning to be ready for home.

I had a good ol' American burger and fries, with an authentic amber ale. I sat and watched an American TV show all about skydiving extremists, ate peanuts (throwing the shells on the floor), and happily sipped my brew.  Why long for home when you can enjoy the creature comforts of it right here in Hong Kong?
